8 months!!

Wow how time flies!! Nate is 8 months old & changing every single day!

He is into absolutely EVERYTHING! He is crawling (which is actually a bear crawl.. He doesn't use his knees? So odd. I was told Eric did this same thing when he was younger) pulling up, he can walk while holding onto the couch or ottoman & is getting pretty good at letting go and keeping his balance for a few seconds.

He likes to try and clap but it often comes out as him just swinging his arms up & down. We are working on waving "hi & bye" and saying "momma and dada" even though it may be a while!

He loves bath time and splashing the water everywhere. He is a pretty awesome baby- it is like clockwork with his naps and food and since he is so happy, it's pretty easy to tell when he is sick.

He is loving any and all kinds of baby food & still sucks his bottle dry. We are attempting some puffs and yogurt melts but he will only eat them if someone feeds them to him. I find that so weird since all of his toys and everything else that is not edible goes straight to his mouth but he won't put actual food in his mouth.. Silly boy.

He has two bottom teeth and I think some more are about to come through!

We are absolutely head over heels for this boy & love watching him grow every day!!

Here is picture overload... :)

We had a great first Easter with our little buddy! He got to go on an Easter egg hunt at Erics aunt & uncles house and spent the morning playing with my kitchen bowls and spoons
He has really started to laugh at our dogs and is so interested in them! He tries to follow them everywhere but really it is just him turning from side to side to watch them! They are so good with him which makes my heart so happy, here he is playing with my sweet Charlie!
We got to go to a Steakout a couple weekends ago which was such a fun date night for us! There was a silent auction as well as other auctions. The bands were amazing so of course we danced the night away! Love this man :)

Lastly- I will end with this pretty awesome picture of my nephew and the one and only Emmitt Smith!

Christmas and 5 month update

Hard to believe that Christmas is already over and we are well into 2015!

2014 was a very stressful year- Eric and I struggled with some financial issues that we are still batteling but I am confident that 2015 will be SO much better for us in that area. My family/friends experienced 4 deaths within 6 months this year. Two of which were within 2 weeks of each other. My sweet mom lost her sister in June and her mom in December. My brother lost his ex-wife who is the mother of my precious nieces and nephew and one of my very best friends lost her mom to a long hard fought battle with cancer.

On top of all of this stress and sadness, giving birth to my precious Nathan has been the one thing to keep me smiling & seeing the positive. He brings SO much joy and happiness to our family and I just love watching him grow and learn.

To be honest, I am so happy to put 2014 behind me and have a fresh start. Looking forward to 2015 being filled with less worry, more happiness, stronger faith and a healthy family!

Here is the last month/Christmas in pictures :)

Me, Eric, Nate and my parents went to see the Christmas lights at the Botanical Gardens this year. It was alright but the fact that it was so packed made it a little less enjoyable. I know this year will be much better since Nathan will be able to enjoy so much more about Christmas!

Nathan has started experimenting with a few baby foods and so far loves Carrots, Sweet Potatoes and Squash :) As you can tell he has also found his feet and loves to grab them and put them in his mouth any chance he gets!

So happy in the mornings :)

Here he is on Christmas Eve in his little vest with a mohawk :)

Christmas was great this year- Christmas Eve we went to a nice dinner with Mark, Marti, Kenli, Cade and Lori. Afterwards, we came back to our house to watch Christmas Vacation :).

Christmas Day we all went to my parents and ate and played lots of Ping Pong. Brent, Julie and the boys got into town around 3 and it was so great to see them! I know it is hard to pack for those two boys and fly them down here for 2 days but we are so thankful and appreciative that they do that so we can be with them over the holiday. We love yall!!

The day after Christmas all of the siblings were able to go out without the kiddos which was great and so much fun. Here are some pictures of those couple days!

Absolutely adore this woman. Love you SO much, Aunt Raye!

Cheers to 2015!

4 months

My baby boy is 4 months old! Cant believe how fast time has gone so far.

We have done so much since my last 2 month update!

First of all: he went to the doctor on the 5th for his 4 month check up. He had to get more shots and even though he still cried, I feel like he did great!

His weight was 15 lbs 8oz (50%)
His length was 26 1/2 inches (90%)

In November, we were able to spend a lot of time with Brent, Julie, Luke and Carson! They came up to visit so that we could spend an early Thanksgiving with them. The very next weekend we traveled to Dallas to watch my niece, Kenli, play in the State Volleyball Tournament for AHS. We stayed with Brent and them and even though the girls lost in the semi's it was still a great weekend!

That same weekend we drove to Ft. Worth to visit the Gillaspie's and their new little girl, Brooke! Even though we couldnt stay long it was still so much fun to visit and meet their new addition!

Nathan has been a great baby. He still loves to be held and loves attention. We are starting rice cereal and baby food so that should be a fun and interesting experience.

He is really starting to find his voice and loves to make noises. The best is in the morning on the way to the baby sitter- i dont even turn on the radio.. I just listen to him talk to himself the whole way there!

We have found some ticklish spots on him and he just laughs and cackles which makes us crack up too! He is rolling over like a champ and loves to sleep on his stomach.

We are still having trouble with him spitting up but i am hoping he grows out of that pretty soon.

Here are some pictures of the last two months!

Here is Nate's first Halloween! He was a little tiger and loved his costume!

Here we are celebrating our first Thanksgiving as a family of 3!

The last two months have been so much fun! Nathan is growing and changing every day and I love being his momma!

2 month update!

I can't believe Nathan is over 2 months old already!! He got his first set of shots a week ago and poor guy did NOT like them at all. The nurse had me hold his arms down above his head and that was the worst part :( he cried but he calmed down as soon as I was able to pick him up and love on him. Here is a quick update on what he is up to:

Weight- 11 lbs and 10 oz. doctor says this is about average
Height- not sure but she said he is the length of a 3 month old.

Nathan loves to be held... All of the time. He loves to be moving whether it is rocked or in a car.

He is starting to smile all of the time and loves to kick his legs. If you stand him up on your lap and balance him he loves to push up and stand!

Since my last post I have started back at work and Nathan has been at day care for almost a month. So far we are both adjusting pretty well.. Still hard being away from him though. Here are a few pictures of my big boy!

We also took Nate to his first pumpkin patch... It was more for Eric and I.. I don't think Nathan really cared. Most of the pictures we took were on our camera but here are a few.

Lastly, here is how we spent Nathan's 2 month birthday:

Proving my point that he really likes to be held. :)
